About SNITTS

SNITTS-Swedish Network for Innovation and Technology Transfer Support is an association of persons engaged in knowledge and technology exchange (Technology Transfer).

SNITTS was initiated in May 2009 as the first tech transfer organization in Sweden building on individual membership and a broad definition of the tech transfer concept.

SNITTS is an association of persons engaged in knowledge and technology exchange (Technology Transfer). The organization focuses on the professional role Tech Transfer Professional. Today SNITTS has 300 members, approximately growing by 100 members per year so far.  Members come from universities, industry, service providers, research funding agencies, the Swedish government, research institutes and other organizations sharing the vision of SNITTS.

SNITTS activities includes organizing the tech transfer week in Sweden which encompasses more than 15 organizations organizing the event. SNITTS also give courses, put together discussion seminars, arrange study trips for members, provides documents such as tools, examples of best practice and other useful information.

 The focus of SNITTS is to be useful to its members and respond to needs and requests that are along the lines of SNITTS mission.

Membership in SNITTS

SNITTS has individual membership and the members may be present in all traditional disciplines, both in academia, industry, institutions and in the public sector. The organization focuses on the professional role Tech Transfer Professional.

Members of SNITTS get support in their profession, access to exchange of experience and best practice, networking, discussion forums, the ability to start or join Special Interest Groups (SIG) and education at reduced prices.

Vision, Goal, Mission and Business idea

Vision: SNITTS contribute to put and retain Sweden at the top international level within efficient knowledge and technology transfer/exchange.

Goal: To create a national platform where members can build their knowledge, exchange experiences, develop methods and contribute to put the agenda for knowledge and technology transfer/exchange.

Mission: Create, profile and protect the professional role for individuals working within knowledge and technology transfer/exchange.

Business idea: Supply information, identity, ideology and insight within the knowledge and technology exchange area, for example through:

  • Information for professionals, businesses and international/national organizations within relevant areas.
  • Identity and shared values through cooperation between technology transfer professionals. Create a clear definition of the occupation and what it represents.
  • Ideology through lobbying and influence, externally and internally through creating shared values.
  • Insight through education and training of the members as well as cooperation and participation in national and international network.

    Innovation Pioneers is organizing the acclaimed, most action-oriented and inspiring innovation symposium, Innovation in Action for its third year running.
  • SNITTS joins ATTP
    SNITTS now becomes the newest member of the Tech Transfer organizations that are able to certify professionally active in tecnology transfer.

ACTIVITIES

  • SNITTS workshop: Licensing and Spin-off creation
    The 10th of December SNITTS arranges a workshop in Lund, in collaboration with Lunds Universitys Innovationssystem och Copenhagen Spin-outs. The goal of the workshop is to see why there are such large differences in commercialization models, identify good practices, initiate knowledge sharing, and more.
  • ASTP Masterclasses Nov 2012
    ASTP announces its second masterclass round of 2012, to be held on 15 & 16 November 2012. We offer the opportunity to take part in an one-day masterclass or to combine two masterclasses.
  • ASTP Fall Conference 2012
    This year's fall conference will be held on 25-26 October in Lyon, France. The theme of our conference is “Business Models in and for Technology Transfer”.
  • Innovation in Mind - Lund 13-14 september 2012
    Innovation in Mind is an annual event aimed at people who are curious about the future and want to see new connections and opportunities.
