About the trainer
Catarina Maia is the Head of the Technology Licensing Office at INESC TEC, and lecturer of several entrepreneurship and technology commercialisation courses at the University of Porto, Portugal. She focuses on Intellectual Property mostly in ICT related areas, covering both hardware and software. She also does academic research covering technology commercialisation, business models and innovation.
Prior to INESC TEC, Catarina set up and served as the managing director of A2B, a business angel investment fund dedicated mostly to technology ventures. She also served as mentor of several technology based entrepreneurship programs. She has experience in software start-ups, large distribution multinational companies and research in international organisations.
Catarina holds a MSc. in Management with focus on technology entrepreneurship, a MBA in Management and a Licenciatura in Microbiology.
